It’s confirmed, it’s official and the calendar marks less and less days to go: ADE 2022 is ready to return after the last year limited edition and the stop because of Covid.
Amsterdam Dance Event will take place from 19 to 23 October 2022, finally in presence, channelling the entire global electronic scene onto itself. Not only a festival, but also – and above all – the conference par excellence, aimed at educating, raising awareness and confronting those in the industry from all over the world.

Information about it is constantly being updated, but its main themes are already known to all. As every year, the topics of discussion are varied and embrace current affairs, but above all the future of electronics. From the celebration of music with unique and unrepeatable events, digital education and new business schemes that can be applied to it. The pattern that will follow the 2022 edition of Amsterdam Dance Event can be framed in four major slices of events.

ADE FESTIVAL
The iconic and much-anticipated Festival, where the most driving genres of electronica will be exalted, alternating with a few niche gems. The more than 200 selected venues will host heterogeneous and varied line-ups. Major record labels will perform with ad hoc showcases, but also authentic experiences such as Eric Prydz‘s HOLO.

ADE ARTS & CULTURE
A celebration of the marriage of Arts & Cultures of peoples with electronics, examining their similarities and highlighting their common principles. A section aimed at exploring the limits of music in our everyday lives, to grasp its innermost meanings. An entirely new and ambitious project at ADE, which aims to offer a wide range of electronic music experiences reflecting the most creative projects around.

ADE PRO
The most coveted and prestigious section for all insiders and professionals. The event that leaves the speakers to one side – momentarily – and pulls out the magnifying glass. The three main themes will – in fact – focus on Business, Future and World, a hot topic at the moment. ADE Pro opens the curtain on all the activities behind the music, with key strategies and new opportunities for professionals. The business side will certainly fascinate most of the audience, as it is a great opportunity to establish and expand one’s own network. The future of music is also crucial, given the continuous innovations that will define the years to come and the start-up scene. The last foundation is sustainability, social change and mental health.

Already announced are panels by former Google engineer Blake Lemoine on the impact of artificial intelligence in the music industry and Meta Industry head Daniela Weitmann who will speak on the music metaverse. Don Diablo, an artist known for his historic future house, will also speak about deepfake tech.

ADE LAB
Another new thread running through this new edition of ADE is the LAB, where music is created for real. Here the basis of everything is formulated, the genesis of this world, the discipline applied and taught by the main players. Guests such as Headhunterz and Carl Cox will be among the many mentors in this section, dedicated to drawing inspiration from electronic superstars and immersing themselves in the most diverse electronic sounds.

The number of events that will blanket the city is countless, so much so that it is impossible to mention them all. A special mention goes to DGTL ADE 2022, which will be held on 20, 21 and 22 October. Opening the dances at this fantastic event – on Thursday 20 – will be the French band Worakls, whose 30-piece orchestra will create a perfect blend of classical and electronic music. Mainstays such as Ukrainian duo ARTBAT with DGTL x UPPERGROUND will follow, taking total control of the NDSM Warehouse. Germany’s Ben Bohmer will keep the atmosphere warm on Friday, with his live set of magical and unique sounds, before making way for more crackling sets from Floating Points and Fatima Yamaha. Finally, Saturday is for The Blessed Madonna, who had already been the star of DGTL 2021 and who returns this year with her We Still Believe concept. Sets by DJs such as Seth Troxler and Job Jobse will be accompanied by a b2b by Marea herself with Derrick Carter. Evening sessions offered by artists such as Paula Temple and KI/KI to the rhythm of Techno, ready to leave everyone on the dancefloor speechless.

It has been two long years since the last real Amsterdam Dance Event, but the feelings that the previous editions left us with are still immaculate in our memories. With only one month to go before Day 1, the frenzy is becoming more and more incessant. The Amsterdam Dance Event 2022 full line-up does not cease to churn out new names every day. A small taste of what the imminent future holds in store for us? Over to you:
