Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) has concluded its milestone 30 YEARS ADE celebration with great success, reaffirming the global gathering’s role as the definitive platform for electronic music culture, artistic innovation, and industry evolution. Following five days and nights of cross-culture collaboration, future discourse, and a total of nearly 4,000 performing artists, the organisation announces that ADE 2027 will take place from October 20 through 24, 2027.
The festival kicked off with a night filled with highlights that set the tone for the entire week, with the sold-out Swan Lake Remixed for ADE at Gashouder, where the Dutch National Ballet and ISH Dance Collective synthesised classical ballet and modern choreography. At Melkweg, dancehall sound system energy merged with symphonic depth as Kybba performed alongside the Metropole Orkest. And one of the most unique showstoppers was seen at the Centrale Markthal, where multidisciplinary artist Boris Acket’s standout spectacle EINDER joined forces with the Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest on opening night, followed by collaborations with Elias Mazian, Djrum, and choreographer Kianí Del Valle throughout the ADE week.
French electronic music pioneer Jean-Michel Jarre led the week as official Guest of Honour, bridging visionary dialogue at Felix Meritis on artificial intelligence and spatial sound with a state-of-the-art audiovisual live performance at AFAS Live. And over at Westergas, ADE Lab expanded into two specialised tracks to foster genuine grassroots sustainability: the free ADE Lab Discovery and the academy program ADE Lab On Track. In addition, ADE in collaboration with VibeLab launched the first Nighttime Culture Index to assess cultural vitality around the world – analysing 12,000+ event line-ups, 3,000+ venues and nearly 30,000 cultural events, gathering insights from nighttime culture experts and participants.
