Over the city of Amsterdam, BAKEN (dutch for beacon) light artwork on the A’DAM Tower by Boris Acket, Chris Van Meer and Lumus Instruments spotlighted the restart of ADE after the long break due to Coronavirus.
Although the conference had been cancelled in September and the focus this year was on the Festival side, Amsterdam Dance Event was able to serve its business audience with the ADE Business Hangout where professionals could meet up and network in a lighter but hospitable way.
With limited space for panels and business meetings, the monthly talk show ADE in Conversation brought innovation showcase edition with a special show featuring DJ Pierre, Colin Benders and industry leaders from Roblox and Universal Music Group discussing innovations in electronic music and its industry such as the Metaverse, all in a mixed reality environment where physical and virtual audiences came together in one room.
Among the 350 events, since the AMF Festival has been cancelled, DJ Mag held the annual Top 100 Djs awards show from AFAS Live where the legend David Guetta has been crowned again #1 after last year, Martin Garrix got the silver medal and Armin Van Buuren closed the podium with a powerful live set.
The annual 1001tracklists showcase with the Top101 Producers chart reveal crowned Vintage Culture as #1, David Guetta #2 and Armin Van Buuren #3.

Also Beatport held a nice event at W Amsterdam Hotel Rooftop Lounge in partnership with Toytonics label!
This Festival boasted also highlights such as Niklas Paschburg’s live concert in Concertgebouw, He.She.They at Shelter, Speedy J’s STOOR project in Paradiso and many more, as well as events in new ADE locations such as De Werf, Lovelee, Kaap and the Hembrugterrein and others.
In addition to its festival offering, the organisation introduced a new Arts & Culture program around electronic music culture, of which the artist residency with Villa Buitenlust, Ester at the Muziekgebouw, a live film score by Helena Basilova and Salvador Breed at the EYE Film Museum and the energetic ARK Rave Studio sessions were just some of the highlights this week.
It was a nice restart of networking and events and we hope to experience a 200% ADE in 2022!
