Each year DJ Mag launches its annual survey in which fans from all over the world can choose five different DJs and rank them in their own personal TOP 5. This year the data indicate a total of 1.3 million votes whose result was unveiled during the Amsterdam Music Festival at AFAS Live. Thanks to the new regulation of the Dutch government, it was also possible to hold the award ceremony.

The Top 101 Producers instead is an annual ranking provided by the 1001Tracklists portal. Thanks to its numerous data collected throughout the year, 1001Tracklists is able to know which records and by which artists were the most played and appreciated. Unlike DJ Mag Top 100 DJs, which is based on a survey in which anyone can express their personal preference, the 1001Tracklists Top 101 Producers is based on real data: if an artist’s song was played by a DJ during a set or a podcast / radio show, got a point.

But what are the results of this year? Controversies and conflicting opinions were not lacking again this year, we offer you a summary and a comparison of the two rankings.
