On Saturday, September 26, 2026, Solomun will headline Vision Open Air at Milan’s Ex Macello, right in the middle of Milan Fashion Week. After Michael Bibi, another major name from the international electronic music scene arrives in Italy to take the crowd from the final hours of the afternoon through to midnight.
As we also highlighted in our article dedicated to Michael Bibi in Milan, September has become one of the most interesting times of the year to see how Fashion Week, nightlife and electronic music culture increasingly come together.
This is exactly where Vision Open Air fits in. Over the past few years, the event has transformed the post-industrial spaces of the Ex Macello into one of the city’s most recognisable open-air dancefloors.
For Solomun, this is also a return to a venue he already knows well. The Bosnian-German DJ was already one of the main names at Vision Open Air during Milan Fashion Week on September 27, 2025. One year later, the new date confirms an increasingly natural connection between Solomun, Vision and the Ex Macello.
Solomun Re-turns to Vision Open Air Milan
On Saturday, September 26, 2026, Solomun will return to the Ex Macello at Viale Molise 62, with the event running from 5:00 PM until midnight.
His style has always been less focused on the constant pursuit of a single explosive moment and much more on the ability to build tension over time.
It is precisely this approach that has allowed Mladen Solomun to move between clubs, festivals and major international venues over the years without ever becoming simply a mainstage artist. Even in front of thousands of people, the core of his performances remains the relationship with the dancefloor, built through selection, timing and the ability to read the crowd.
The Ex Macello offers an ideal setting for this kind of set, as its open-air format and the gradual transition from daylight to night allow the music to evolve naturally, without being forced into an overly rigid structure.
The Rise of a Diynamic Artist
Once again, to properly frame the event, we inevitably have to start with Diynamic, the label founded in Hamburg in 2006 and over the years transformed into one of the most recognisable names in European house music.
Around the label, an entire ecosystem of releases, artists and events gradually developed, helping bring a different approach to house music to an increasingly broad international audience.
Solomun remained at the centre of this universe, but his growth soon extended far beyond the boundaries of the label. From European clubs, he moved onto the stages of major international festivals and, above all, to Ibiza, where Solomun +1 became one of the island’s most recognisable formats.
The formula is deliberately simple: one guest per night, longer sets and more space for the artists to fully develop their own sound.
This philosophy also perfectly reflects the way Solomun approaches the role of the DJ. It is not about fitting the largest possible number of recognisable tracks or drops into a few hours, but about using time to gradually reshape the atmosphere of the dancefloor.
It is precisely this ability that has taken him from a world deeply rooted in the underground to becoming a global headliner, while still maintaining a strong and instantly recognisable artistic identity.
Solomun +1 and His Connection with Ibiza
The Pacha residency has transformed an extremely simple concept into one of the longest-running and most recognisable formats in the island’s club culture.
A fundamental part of Solomun’s contemporary identity is inevitably connected to Solomun +1, the format that has taken over Sundays at Pacha Ibiza since 2013.
The idea is deliberately essential: Solomun invites just one artist each night, avoiding overcrowded lineups and instead giving the DJs enough time to truly develop their own musical language.
In 2026, the residency returned to Pacha from May 31 to October 4, continuing a story that has now lasted for more than a decade. The format remains centred around one of the defining characteristics of Solomun’s approach: creating greater proximity between DJ and dancefloor while allowing the music to evolve through extended sets rather than compressing everything into short slots.
Just a few days before the Ex Macello date, Solomun will still be fully immersed in the Ibiza season, before returning to Pacha shortly afterwards to continue the +1 calendar. Milan therefore falls right in the middle of a period in which his relationship with clubbing is particularly intense.
A Closing Chapter That Reflects Vision Open Air’s Identity
The final date of September also becomes an opportunity to look at how much Vision has expanded its role within Milan’s electronic music scene.
Having Solomun on the final date of the month also offers the chance to look at Vision Open Air as a whole. Throughout the season, the project has brought artists such as Ilario Alicante, Mochakk and ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U to the Ex Macello, before moving into a September programme that ranged from the techno of Charlotte De Witte to the house sound connected to Solid Grooves with Michael Bibi, and finally to the more versatile and narrative approach of Solomun.
His musical journey does not belong entirely to a single genre, and his sets can move across different territories while maintaining a clear sense of continuity. In the same way, Vision has built its calendar without limiting itself to one specific musical direction, instead using the Ex Macello as a meeting point for different audiences and scenes.
September 26 will therefore also mark the moment when Vision closes one of the most important periods of its season with an artist who perfectly reflects the philosophy the project has developed: major international names, a recognisable venue, and the freedom to let each DJ transform that space according to their own identity.
