Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), the world’s largest electronic music festival and business meeting established in 1995, will run for five days from October 16 to 20, with 1,000+ events and over 3,000 artists expected in about 200 venues, with participants gathering from 146 countries.
Special openings and unique venues
Following a great 2023 edition which we have been covered as accredited press, for this year the organization has announced the series of opening events and exclusive events like: Tomorrowland will present two Afterlife shows and its own 20th anniversary at the Ziggo Dome, KI/KI will return to De Bajes-the former prison space in Amsterdam-after last year’s surprise back-to-back with Armin van Buuren, as well as other special venues such as the Royal Tropical Institute, De Hollandsche Manege and Stenen Hoofd.
Among other program highlights, Nick Verstand‘s new visual show, Eefje de Visser with a unique performance at the Van Gogh Museum, Greetje Bijma x Oceanic at the Bimhuis, Metropole Orkest’s tribute to J Dilla at the Melkweg and Lavinia Meijer x Nikki Hock at the Zuiderkerk.
The final wave of artists for ADE 2024 includes Anz, Bambounou, Ben Sims, DJ Nobu, Cera Khin, Dasha Rush, Kölsch, Luke Slater, Pete Tong, Sandrien, and Sweely. The full wave is listed below, and the complete program can be found on the ADE website.

Five ADE Arts & Culture Opening Concerts
Dutch artist Eefje de Visser will play the glass atrium at the Van Gogh Museum unplugged, treating visitors to a fifty-minute performance of her songs in their truest form. Nick Verstand & the Cello Octet Amsterdam take on DOOR OPEN SPACE, where they present ‘COCON II’. This audiovisual live performance has been designed explicitly for ADE this year.
BIMHUIS presents a special collaboration between legendary free jazz singer Greetje Bijma and left-field artist Oceanic. The event will close with a genre-fusing concert by classically trained producer LUXE (live). 24classics will present ‘Philip Glass by Lavinia Meijer & Nikki Hock’ at the iconic Zuiderkerk, where Meijer’s hypnotic classical music meets Hock’s audiovisual works, and true to tradition, Melkweg welcomes Metropole Orkest, to collaborate with Miguel Atwood-Ferguson to play their tribute titled ‘50 Years of J Dilla’.
