Alphatheta HDJ-F9 -KV-2880x1440

Available since October 15, 2026, for €379, the new AlphaTheta HDJ-F9 headphones combine freedom of movement, professional audio quality, and ultra-low-latency wireless connectivity. Key features include SonicLink Touch Pairing, 40 mm drivers, Bluetooth Multipoint, and customization through a dedicated app. The world of DJing continues to evolve towards increasingly flexible and cable-free solutions. AlphaTheta has introduced the new HDJ-F9, professional on-ear wireless headphones designed to give DJs maximum freedom of movement without compromising the precision required during mixing.

Officially launched on October 15, 2026, the HDJ-F9 feature a new generation of AlphaTheta’s proprietary SonicLink technology, delivering latency as low as 9 milliseconds. This is particularly significant for professional DJs, who depend on immediate audio monitoring for beatmatching, scratching, and seamless transitions.

The aim is to overcome one of the biggest limitations of traditional wireless headphones: the delay between an audio signal and its playback, which can affect accuracy during live performances.

SonicLink: Wireless Technology Designed for DJs

At the heart of the new HDJ-F9 is SonicLink, AlphaTheta’s proprietary wireless technology developed to deliver stable connectivity, powerful volume, and exceptionally fast audio response.

With a claimed latency of just 9 ms, SonicLink allows DJs to monitor their mixes without the restrictions of traditional wired connections, maintaining the precision required even for advanced mixing techniques.

One of the most notable innovations is SonicLink Touch Pairing, a feature that enables the headphones to connect instantly to compatible DJ equipment with a simple touch.

One example is the AlphaTheta DJM-V5 mixer, which supports this functionality after updating to the latest firmware version.

For compatibility with a wider range of DJ equipment, the SonicLink HP-TX01 transmitter is available separately at a suggested retail price of €129, including VAT.

40 mm Drivers and Effective Sound Isolation for Loud DJ Booths

Beyond wireless connectivity, AlphaTheta has placed particular emphasis on audio performance.

The HDJ-F9 feature newly developed 40 mm drivers, engineered to deliver powerful, well-defined bass extending into the sub-bass frequencies.

A bass-reflex chamber positioned at the top of each earcup helps reproduce the attack of kick drums and basslines with greater accuracy, an essential characteristic for DJs working with house, techno, and electronic music.

The PEEK-PU-PEEK composite film diaphragm is designed to suppress unwanted vibrations while maintaining a balanced response across low, mid, and high frequencies, minimizing distortion.

Special attention has also been given to passive sound isolation. Thanks to an optimized internal structure, the headphones are designed to provide effective monitoring even in particularly noisy environments, reducing the need to raise the volume excessively.

Comfort, Durability, and Minimalist Design

The new AlphaTheta headphones feature a compact, minimalist on-ear design developed to accommodate different monitoring styles.

Swiveling earcups and a flexible silicone headband allow DJs to wear the headphones normally, monitor with one ear, or comfortably rest them on their shoulder during a performance.

The adjustable sliding mechanism incorporates die-cast aluminum components designed to improve long-term durability.

Weighing 285 grams without the cable, the HDJ-F9 aim to combine robustness, comfort, and practicality, particularly important for extended DJ sets and frequent travel.

Bluetooth 5.3, Multipoint Connectivity, and HEADPHONES CONNECT Customization

The HDJ-F9 are not designed exclusively for use in the DJ booth.

Thanks to Bluetooth 5.3 and Bluetooth Multipoint, the headphones can connect to two devices simultaneously, such as a smartphone and computer, making it easier to switch between different audio sources.

Google Fast Pair and Windows Swift Pair are also supported, simplifying pairing with compatible Android and Windows devices.

Through the dedicated HEADPHONES CONNECT app, users can access several customization options, including adjusting the Status LED’s color and brightness, renaming the headphones, and configuring automatic power-off.

The app also features Find My Headphones, which helps locate the headphones by playing a sound, alongside firmware updates and additional support functions.

According to the launch announcement, the iOS version of the app is scheduled to become available on the App Store at a later date.

Up to 25 Hours of Battery Life and Wired Connectivity

In terms of battery performance, the new AlphaTheta HDJ-F9 offer different operating times depending on the connection mode and LED settings.

With SonicLink enabled, the manufacturer claims approximately 7 hours of playback with the Status LED switched on and up to 9 hours with the LED switched off.

When using Bluetooth, battery life increases to approximately 13 hours with the LED on and up to 25 hours with the LED disabled.

A full charge takes approximately 2.5 hours, while a 30-minute quick charge provides around 2.5 hours of playback.

The headphones also include a 1.2-meter coiled cable, extendable to approximately 3 meters, allowing DJs to use them in wired mode whenever necessary.
