The Zurich Street Parade is historically one of the largest electronic music events in the world, and it’s celebrating its 30th edition this year after its debut in 1992, consistently attracting nearly 1 million people to the Swiss city (more than double its current population!).

It’s no surprise, then, that as midnight strikes and the 29 musical wagons of the parade and the 8 stages spread along the 3 km route come to a close end, that the over 920,000 ravers want to keep on dancing until the early hours of the morning. For this reason, the Street Parade offers dozens of affiliated after-parties, among which one stands out for its monumental lineup and for the chosen venue: the Insomnia Dance Festival.

Located outside the bustling city center and set up in the multi-purpose Hallenstadion arena (usually used for ZSC Lions’ hockey games), Insomnia offers a true festival experience in a setting that transitions from the open-air of the Street Parade to the indoor venue of the stadium. It features a mainstage that would easily go toe-to-toe with the biggest European events, accompanied by three other stages, each with its own signature sound.

As previously said, the lineup is exceptional, with the Arena Stage hosting the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Indira Paganotto, I Hate Models, Vini Vici, along with the hometown favorite EDX and italian megastars Meduza and 999999999 playing until the early lights of dawn. The visual setup (as well as the acoustic) is nothing short than monumental, featuring a plethora of lasers, VFX, and pyrotechnics effects.

The other stages are equally impressive too; with the Warehouse Stage hosting hardcore artists such as Dark Headz, Furyan b2b Hysta, Billx, Andy The Core, The Satan in an exclusive live set and including a B2B set between Randy and the The Sickest Squad, all in an industrial warehouse setting, damp and gloomy as true gabber enthusiasts like. In the Basement Stage, hardstyle takes the spotlight, featuring the best names in the scene, including Wildstylez, Frequencerz, D-Sturb, Bass Modulators and The Purge. Finally, the fanfare is completed by the Crazy Circus Stage, showcasing the top talents of Sirup Records, the label of the aformentioned Swiss artist EDX.

This event managed to reignite the energy even in those who, like us, have experienced the Street Parade in its entirety, walking through the streets of Zurich and dancing for nearly 12 consecutive hours, accompanied by various special guests such as Patrick Topping, Deborah De Luca, Joseph Capriati and Seth Troxler, just to name a few of those who graced the city stages during the daytime.

An experience, the one of the Street Parade and Insomnia Dance Festival, that we can’t wait to repeat. If you’re seeking a truly unique event in the heart of Europe, this is the right choice for you!
