AlphaTheta, together with Algoriddim and Native Instruments, launches OneLibrary, the new unified format for music libraries that allows DJs to use the same music on software and hardware from different brands.
Until today, differences between library formats from various brands could limit DJs to using specific software and hardware, with the risk of not being able to access their personal music library or use USB devices on all equipment available in a venue.

OneLibrary solves this problem
by standardizing essential data for DJ performance – such as playlists, cue points, and beatgrids – across compatible platforms, offering much greater flexibility: from performing with a computer at home to using USB drives in clubs and venues.
In practice, OneLibrary eliminates barriers between different ecosystems, allowing playlists, cue points, and beatgrids to travel freely between compatible platforms.

Until today, differences in library formats between different brands could represent a limitation, forcing the use of specific software and hardware, with the risk of not being able to access one’s personal music library or use USB devices with all equipment available in a venue. OneLibrary solves the problem by standardizing essential data for DJ performances, such as playlists, cue points, and beatgrids, across different compatible platforms. This shared library format ensures greater flexibility, with the option to play your music with a wider range of equipment, from performing on a computer at home to using USB drives in venues.

Speaking about OneLibrary, Yoshinori Kataoka, President and CEO of AlphaTheta Corporation, commented: “We are excited to launch OneLibrary: a step forward that makes creative expression even simpler for DJs around the world. Enabling DJs to express themselves freely, without limitations, is part of AlphaTheta’s mission. We are grateful to our industry partners who share this vision and have participated in this initiative. And this is just the beginning, so stay tuned”.

Karim Morsy, CEO of Algoriddim GmbH, stated: “At Algoriddim, we have always embraced open and accessible DJ technologies that enhance creativity. The collaboration with AlphaTheta for OneLibrary aligns perfectly with our mission to remove barriers in the DJ ecosystem. By allowing users to export their djay Pro library for direct use on professional hardware like CDJ-3000X, CDJ-3000, or XDJ-AZ, we offer DJs the flexibility to perform seamlessly in the most diverse configurations, whether at home, in a club, or on stage”.

Nick Williams, CEO of Native Instruments, also shared his thoughts: “Everything we do at Native Instruments aims to inspire and enable creatives to express themselves through sound. OneLibrary represents a major step forward toward a more open and collaborative DJ ecosystem, where music moves as freely as the people who play it. We are proud to be among AlphaTheta’s first partners in this initiative and to enable complete USB export not only to Traktor Pro 4 users worldwide, but also to new DJs starting out using Traktor Play”.

Born as AlphaTheta’s Device Library Plus, it evolved into OneLibrary thanks to collaboration with other manufacturers. The result of collaboration with Algoriddim and Native Instruments, OneLibrary now allows DJs to export their music libraries for seamless use with djay Pro and Traktor software. djay Pro already supports USB Export, while support for Traktor Play and Traktor Pro 4 will arrive with upcoming updates.

DJ hardware compatible with OneLibrary
• CDJ-3000X
• CDJ-3000 (requires firmware version 3.30 or later)
• XDJ-AZ

• OPUS-QUAD
• OMNIS-DUO

Your exported DJ library includes all essential performance data for a DJ performance, such as playlists, BPM, key information, cue points, beatgrids, and waveform data. This means that even if you use djay Pro, Traktor Play, or Traktor Pro 4, you can perform using only a USB drive, without the need for a laptop. AlphaTheta has conducted compatibility testing on this aspect.
* Traktor Play and Traktor Pro 4 will support OneLibrary in the coming months.
* For detailed information on specifications and pricing for USB Export, consult the official websites of Algoriddim and Native Instruments.

A future where every DJ can play more freely

OneLibrary compatibility will continue to expand to include more software and hardware, with the goal of providing DJs with a simple way to use their personal music libraries. The prospect of offering DJs the freedom to use their libraries with any software and in any venue is becoming more realistic. AlphaTheta is committed to collaborating with the entire DJ industry to establish OneLibrary as a next-generation standard.
